We say it in our mission statement; we practice it in our clinics, at the bedside and in our halls. It is on our nametags; it is on our minds and it is what we continually aspire and inspire to do. Our patients are the reason why each of our healthcare workers practice resilience, persistence and compassion. It can be seen in the quiet moments late at night; a smile, a soft hand to hold and a kind word. It is the reason why people of the Western Slope have chosen Delta Health for over 100 years to deliver their care, their babies and even their the end-of-life moments.
There were moments this past year that were trying for patients and caregivers alike. And as we look forward to another year, our commitment to our patients is stronger than ever. Delta Health has continued to provide high-quality and accessible care throughout our communities. In 2021 131 babies were delivered at our birthing center, Stork’s Landing. We responded with life-saving and healing care to over 13,476 people who visited our hospital emergency room, and we addressed the acute care needs of the 1,276 patients who stayed in our hospital for a total of 6,014 days.
Our Delta Health clinics shined in 2021. We provided remarkable care within our outpatient clinics to all 56,610 patient visits. Delta Health’s integrated behavioral health clinics-based team delivered compassionate care for 3,297 behavioral health and substance abuse visits. Our hospital and clinic staff helped give approximately 9,200 vaccine doses to community members to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and enabled people to resume normal family and business activities. This past year the Delta Health Foundation also celebrated 20 years of supporting the goals of Delta Health through care advancement initiatives and scholarships for healthcare professionals. In 2021 alone, the Foundation gave back more than eighty thousand dollars.

Our outcomes, advanced technology, top accreditations, innovations and treatments are the world’s recognition of the great care that we do provide – and strive to provide every day. But the real reason people come to Delta Health cannot always be calculated, but rather seen and felt in the important life moments that our community allows us to be there for and a part of. We know our patients measure outcomes in those moments, and so do we.
